Hi Guys,
I figured I'd throw up a few pics and a background story on a recent find. I purchased a couple lots of carded wheats on Ebay a little while back. The lots were rather large (~1900 coins per lot) and things got out of hand in the final seconds of bidding. After the dust settled, I started to get that sinking feeling that I spent waaaaaay too much on the items. After taking receipt of the coins and inspecting them more closely, however, I discovered a number of varieties that the previous owner obviously didn't notice. This coin represents, in my opinion, the coolest treasure in the lot. Given that all of the coins were carded and the dates and mintmarks were neatly written on each card, I assumed the previous owner had inspected them more closely and there wouldn't be anything like this among them. If nothing else, I've learned that I should ALWAYS inspect every coin thoroughly before passing it off!
