I have not tried with a Lincoln but it does work. You can't have anything else in the pocket, of course and it can take weeks or even months.

Nice!! That's unusual to have that much woody showing on just one side. What's going on at the southeast of the bust, just die deterioration?

I am pretty sure that is the case. I just ordered it, I will post my own pics in a few days.

The south east of the bust is die deterioration for sure. There is just a touch of wear on Lincoln's cheek, jaw and above the ear. I will wait until wifey takes pics. to post them. Looks like a AU58 to me.

Man, that is some nice contrast between the light and dark on the 1914.

Thanks, I love the ones with a touch of blue/purple. The obverse is gold with purple stripes and the reverse is purple with gold stripes.
A dealer remembered that I was looking for them and pulled out a book of Lincolns he just bought and pointed it out. I have a 14, but bought this one anyway.
As much as I love this coin, the 19D I got from the same book is incredible. It has some vertigris between the bust and rim. If I can get that removed, it has a shot at MS66+BR. It has super smooth nick free fields. It's EDS like one of the first 100 with the die. It has a blue tone unlike any I've seen except on a proof Indian. It only shows at a certain angle and it's hard to call it blue or purple. It shimmers between those and brown. I can't begin to think how to image it, got to get wifey to do those ones too.
I am also debating between having my dealers with decades of experience conserve it and NCS. My dealers did 5 Lincolns before the coins went to PCGS and I couldn't be happier. They did my 14D graded 63br and my 43S DDO MS66. I am afraid NCS won't know how much I care about it.

Just hope the conserving doesn't diminish the toning on that 19d!

That is an awesome looking 14... I do not see much circ wear on that... What grade do you think it is???

That's my concern, I don't think there is a way to know if it will until it's done,

I am having a hard time deciding if there is a touch of wear on the beard or if it's just the woodgrain with high zinc there. I don't see any above the eye and there seems to be luster on the reverse devices. So I am thinking 63BR with a slight chance at 58. I will never know because I like it and plan on keeping it, so I don't care what A TPG thinks.

The rim at the L of LIBERTY looks a little weak as does the SW corner of the L... The opposing rim doesn't look formed completely just south of the area but I can not tell for sure... The pics blurred a little to much when I zoomed in... It may just be due to the rev die being slightly misaligned to the south??? If it were up to me I would give yours a MS65BR
