I've used an amscope for about 5+ years. I like them, but forget calling them for parts. Personally, I wouldn't use a scope without continual magnification. So much easier and better to use...at least for me. I've never used a USB camera before, but I seem to recall another member talking about his a couple of years ago and he didn't care for the quality of the photos. Try a search on it. I may be remembering that part in error. Good luck with it. The price seems like a good one.

Well, if you want a camera with it, the scope you linked to seems to be just the thing. Good reviews and a great price.

The scope seems ok, it is similar to mine. The camera shoots through the eye slot with the magnification lens out, I have never tried this so I am not sure how well it will work. Microscopes have magnification power from either the objective lens (below), or with the eyepiece (above) & the objective, meaning the camera is operating without one of them (the eyepiece).

The lighting that comes with these microscopes don't often work well. You'll need to experiment. Good luck!

I do not think that you will be happy with the camera part. 2 mgp is low; I use an 8 mgp and a 12 mpg. The fixed magnification is also a draw back; it should have been a zoom magnification. However, the price is great and any step towards scope magnification is a good step.

I'd prefer a used Bausch & Lomb StereoZoom over the Amscopes. Availability of the Chinese scopes has brought down the pricing of the classic B&L's and you can get them for about the same price now. They have continuous zoom and excellent working distance. But...you will need to add the USB camera if you choose to take pics through the microscope...Ray
