Is Machine Doubling unique to individual coins?

I have 3 very nice 1959D's that either have some isolated MD or are DDRs.

My question is this: Can multiple coins have the exact same MD on them? It's isolated on the bottom of the O and E in ONE and the C in CENT on all three coins and is EXACTLY the same on all three. Having trouble making a call on them. This will be a good learning opportunity as I have never thought about whether MD can exist in the exact same manifestation on multiple coins. If it can, they are probably just MD, if not I might need to send these to Bob.

I'm not at home so I can't post pics until later. I went over them for about 20 minutes last night though and it's swimming around in my head right now so I thought I'd go ahead and ask.

MD can be very similar coin to coin. There may be microscopic differences because we are talking about machines here, but it can indeed look the same. This is especially true if there are thousands of coins in that striking run that are affected by the same machine problem.

Thanks for the info. Bob. I'll pop some photos up later just to be sure but I'm fairly certain it is just MD.
