    1972-D Rotated Die!

    Hey everyone,
I was coin roll hunting and I came across a penny that looked funny, I looked at the date and saw that it had the possibility of being a rotated die.
I check and, yep, sure enough, it was off by about 21 degrees.
What is something like this worth?
    Thanks,
    Jonathan (AmericasPennies)

Rotated die errors (in my opinion) aren't really collectble unless rotated 90° or more. You could still keep it, but don't expect to get much money out of it.
    Keep up the hunt!

You mean it's a year that's listed in one of the books?
I think they only list a few years with well known ones with a lot of rotation, one's that a bunch the same were made.

Still almost any year can possibly have a rotated die. Minor rotation is common, the more rotation the more collectable.

I think the OP got the list from here: http://www.rotateddies.com/

So would a 90 degree rotated die mean that the reverse is completely upside down?

              No, that would be 180.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

With the obverse horizontal, the reverse should be upside down. That is normal.

Every now and then when the topic of a rotated die cent comes up and someone has questions I don't mind posting these links to help out. The 1st one is my first find at 180 degree and the 2nd is about 165 rotation. I understand 1994 is a year for rotated dies. Just thought reposting would help with questions.
