    My collection so far

Hello everyone, This is the whole of my collection since i've gotten into it. I'm trying to get back into it but just never get around to put $50 into buying it at the bank. I will soon though.

here is a little info that might help..first find local a bank that will process loose coins for no charge(you may have to open account) this is your recycle bank..then the rest of the banks/credit unions are there for coin purchases..you don't have to buy bulk..go to bank and ask the teller if they have any customer rolled pennies that they will sell. you can get as many as you want at a time...5.00 or 10.00..what ever..when you get to the point that you want move up to boxes they run 25.00 and you can normal buy a box..just ask teller if they have a extra box you can buy the vault teller will be the one that knows if she has extra..Richard

Thank you very much. Yeah a friend told me i should go to the "less popular" banks instead of the more popular ones. Reason is that in the famous banks or places people don't save they're penny's and all that but in the not so popular towns people have save for like 30 years jars of penny's for future use. Then they just will go to the bank and get them exchanged. I did this, and get this: bought $60 worth of penny's and after i was done i'd found about 25 WEAT reverse!!!!! Also i've been told never to go back to the same bank after you put your penny's in because you might just get the ones you just put in there back. So i need to find at least 6 banks to go to and ask for penny's. They usually are completely seperated by 1 month. Thanks anyway though. Sorry about there being no pictures. I DID upload them but there must have been and error.

Good orginization on your coins. WE do the same - those plastic containers for beads are great way to seperate your dates. We have them for all of our lincoln cent dates from 1909-1969-s. The 70's and 80's are together, the nineties and 2000's are seperate. We also catalog our errors, etc.
              Keep up the good work!

                      Jonathan,
Looks like you have a good start at a roll collection. Good that you have a friend to help you out getting started.

The forums are a great informational source and loaded with some great people but it is always good to have some books relate to your particular interests as well.

That is awesome! Are the rolls OBW, or AU/BU that you pull from the pennies at the bank?
It takes lots of time to do this hobby, but the rewards later are just too many to count (a little joke). Lots of folks only collect OBW rolls, but here recently, OBW Lincolns got really pricey, and some of the 1980's rolls are more than 25 per roll, so stay at it!

Thank you very much legend. I don't know though what you mean by "OBW" or AU/BU. Actually a thought just came to me that the AU mean "almost uncerculated? Don't know what the obw or bu means though. Since i have a lot of 1979 rolls(4 maybe) i'm starting to just get the AU ones. The ones i have in the roll are a mix between EF, and VF (Extremely fine, and Very Fine. But you probably already knew that! ;) ) I have a question though. How many of Each date would you collect? My friend says he just get's like 3 of each and then saves the really good ones. But i'm thinking maybe i should get a whole bunch and when i get enough i can fill a $25 penny box!!!! Won't that be sweet?! $25 box labeled 1979! Anyway if you could answer that for me that would be great. Thanks again.

I'm wondering how much 1960 rolls and 1970 rolls would be worth each? Are they rare any? I know that the 1960 small date "P" is very rare. Thanks.
