    You're seeing some die deterioration. Extremely common on steelies.

        I have no idea what you are asking about, but all I see is a 1943 cent.

          The S has a little bit of a shadow to the southeast. I would guess as the metal flows into the mm of the die it eats the edge of the mm away and enlarges the S?
