Has anyone heard, seen, or found any legitimate 2013 shield error's? If so, does anyone have any pictures? If not, does that mean they may have not been found yet? Thanks, Curious George
I believe he asked about 'errors' - doubled dies are not classified as 'errors'.
I have never seen a legitimate error for any shield cent other than a couple of very nice clashes, one on a proof coin. Possibly a few die cracks and a greaser here and there, but nothing else marketable.

I haven't seen any 2013 errors worth mentioning. Like Chuck said, an occasional die clash or die crack shows up but that's about it.
Here is a photo of an odd die crack/chip. Odd in that I usually don't see it over LIBERTY like this.

I have found several which are similar to rim burrs, where part of the rim is clipped off, then struck into the coin. I posted one a while ago. I have also found some in OBWs where the plating was cracked like on a lamination. Aside from errors, there are a few nicer Doubled dies know, particularly the 1DR-001.(I know you said errors, but just saying)
Did anyone ever consider that the OP, as a novice in this field, may have actually INTENDED to ask about varieties instead of errors? I have no idea, but I certainly see no harm in addressing both. George, here is some information about coin lexicon you may or may not know.
Varieties are broken down into 2 categories: "Die varieties" such as doubled dies, re-punched mint marks, etc. and
"issue (or design) varieties" such as transitional and wrong design varieties like the 1998-2000 WAMs, 1988 with reverse of 89, etc.
These things are considered varieties and not errors. Errors are things like off-center strikes, mis-aligned die strikes, cuds, lamination peels, die cracks and chips, just to name a few. Sorry if this wasn't needed, but if not, then hopefully it clarifies something for someone down the road.

You all all right! as a rookie to this, and not yet knowledgeable about all the lingo, I am also interested in varieties like double dies also for the new 2013 shield pennies. The reason I asked is because the bank gave me some unopened rolls of 2013 shield pennies and I wanted to know when I study them, should I be looking for all categories, varieties, etc... sorry about my question. Once I get more knowledgeable, i'll be able to ask specific question's accordingly. Thanks everyone for your replies and patients as I learn the proper terminology.
