    5 Gallons of Copper Cents

    - It took about a year and a half to fill. It is a 5 gallon container full of copper cents. I still have to weight it and then calculate how many cents are in it.

    I'd guess about $250 FV

Fun! And definitely a good feeling of accomplishment to finally fill up!

I decided I did not need to keep coppers and took about $500 worth back to the bank the other week. Would have filled two of those jugs. Still have an other $500 in the closet.

I quit keeping the coppers too. I just got to be too much.

Took the copper back to the bank? If you don't have any issues using craigslist, will guarantee that you could unload them there for over face value.

Not where I live. I had $200 F/V and couldn't unload it for anything. Ended up dumping it.

Likewise. I put $50 on the list to see what would happen. Result; NADA.

Really? That's pretty crazy. Having trouble keeping up with demand from a bulk standpoint.

I've had the same experience- a couple of weeks ago I sold $100 face in copper on eBay for $109 at auction... WITH free shipping. I lost about $15 compared to if I had taken it to the bank.

I've got another $100 face that'll be seeing my credit union this week.

How did you manage to not search? I assumed you separated the copper as you searched.
