    1959 d

    HI all,
    I don't seem to have as much time as I would like to look at coins, but when i do have time its nice to have something to share with you all.
    any way in one roll on coins I got five new looking 1959 D pennies.sorry my pictures have not improved.but here they are any way.

    Those are very nice looking 50 year old coins. What did all the rest of the coins in the roll look like? Were they modern issues??

      Very nice lilt! I can guarantee that is one roll I did not recycle...

          I would be interested in knowing if anything else nice came out of that roll and wether or not there were any newer coins in the roll. Obviously if the roll were wrapped in 1959 the remainder of the coins would be wheat cents.

          I opened a roll once and found that the newest coins in the roll were 1964, and they were still red. Almost 75% of those rolls were wheat cents...naturally because they had not left circulation yet. Wheats didn't become a scarcity in circulation until around 1980.

            it was circulated roll from the bank. actually those were the only good coins out of the roll.
