I have picked many 1909 vdbs on ebay that were ddos. Good eye. The coin looks great and a must for any collector.
Congrats.

Well the good news is it graded 65 RB. The bad news is NGC didn't put the FS-1102 on the label. When I called to ask why they said it was too weak to recognize?
Can anyone shed some light on this because I'm missing something here.Comment

Congrats on the grade. I don't know anything about TPGs. Did they still charge an attribution fee even though they didn't attribute it?Comment

Yep. Like all other fees it's non-refundable if it's not listed or turns out not to be that variety. Think of them as examination fees; certification is a bonus.
Far as I know NGC attributes any Fivaz-Stanton variety.Comment

That coin would be worth crossing over to PCGS- if they agree with the grade they will put it in a PCGS holder and attribute it. The fees for crossover are cheaper than regular submission services and the coin would bring a strong premium in that grade in a PCGS holder.
Congratulations on the grade!Chris & Charity Welch- LIVEANDIEVARIETIES

Congrats on the find and grade! Bummer on the lack of attribution. I've seen a few N.G.C. Attributed, but read elsewhere that they didn't attribute FS-1102??Comment

Just got an email back from NGC:
Message: Will NGC certify FS-1102 for the 1909 VDB Lincoln cent?
Reply: Dear Mr. Rose,
Thank you for your email. No, NGC would not at this time.
That settles that, then.
