2013P LIBERTY die crack and chip

Thought this was interesting, I can follow the die crack to the T. Would this be a B chip E, or a BIE?

I believe it would be labeled as a die crack in LIBERTY.

I agree. A die crack at this point.

Thanks guys! So when is a chip a chip? Tried to research that question already on the forum and can't find an answer.

When it's a line it's crack. When something chips out it's a chip.

When you look at a street you might see cracks, then you see areas where a pothole is forming. It's similar, the potholes are more like chips and the cracks are cracks.

All cracks don't develop into chips but some do and some chips form without starting as cracks.

Thank you GrumpyEd, so why isn't the blob "pothole" between the B and the E not a chip? btw... that is a great explanation

For now, it's part of the crack and in the process of growing a chip.
I wouldn't say it's wrong to call it a chip already, it's chipping already.

It's clearer to call something a chip when it's not part of a crack like most BIEs don't have a crack like this one.

That is a very nice die crack. First one I have seen through liberty. Very cool, congrats on the find.

Thank you wapa, first one I've seen at Liberty also

off the subject... I just pulled my first 2014 out of a brick (and the first one I have seen) There are a few minor die cracks and the VDB looked 3D thick to me, as was mentioned in another thread.
