Its been a weird month with cuds lately. The past 30 days Ive found 7 cuds. Ive found 23 since 2010 but nothing older than 1982 and not a single reverse cud yet. Ive found numerous retained cuds on reverse but not sure why an actual reverse cud is so hard to find.

Jacob, I am glad you asked this question. I have been specifically cud hunting the last 10 or so bricks and found nothing. That is how I found the LAM on the 1977D, I never looked at those before. So, I have been wondering what years are most likely to have cuds. I could get through a brick much faster -
From my experience 82/83 have the most. I've found 95% of my cuds in those years. Again, my experience is limited so take from it what you willComment

my theory is with the switch to zinc cents... the dies could not stand up.. was it the machine pressure? or hardness of die steel? or the over use of 1983 dies for budget reasons?.... the 1983 reverse dies show more clashes that were polished out than any year I have looked at.... way more cracks than any year... 1 crack corners... to all 4 corners crack.. and some with 2 cracks going different directions on the same corner
the obverses? never really looked or paid attention on clashes or cracksMember: Florida State representative for the ANA, Florida state representative for CONECA, F.U.N. and the Ocala Coin ClubComment
