Listing in strike it rich with pocket change

There is a listing for another doubled ear for 1997 that isn't 1DO-001. There is no cross references listed either. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it just a gouge or legit doubled die? Thanks.

I shot an email to Dr. Allen. He's a busy guy but always responds. I'm not aware of any other attribution system that lists the coin. I'll let you know what I hear back.

Dr. Allen got back to me today, this was his response:

        "Chris,
I do not know of any cross references for this variety."

You sure we're not talking about the second doubled ear that they've listed for 1984?

Thanks for the update liveanddievarieties. The listing I'm talking about is definitely 1997.

Yeah Dennis, not that the '84 #2 doesn't cause it's own confusion, but there's also a secondary '97 Doubled ear listed in the book.

I'm going to get to work finding an '88 Doubled Ear #2!
