    LCR Unlikely ally

A while back I sold some wheat cent rolls on ebay...The buyer contacted me and said that her 10 year old son was excited about winning the auction and would it be ok if I waited 2 or 3 days so he could get his money together...I told her that would be fine...I was curious and asked her what had sparked her sons interest in the hobby...she said you're not going to believe this...It was the Tooth Fairy! His father started placing coins that he and his father had collected under his pillow each time he lost a tooth...He's now apparently hooked for life! We may have an unlikely ally in the Tooth fairy when it comes to promoting the hobby! Food for thought...I wanted to share this neat story.

When available I would drop wheat cents in trick or treat bags...I am sure there is room for the Easter Bunny and Santa too!

My son always gets a special coin that he can't spend from the tooth fairy! It hasn't really taken root yet, though.

Fortunately my daughter is a few years from the tooth fairy and she currently loves cents because she sees me "playing" with them all the time. By the time she is old enough though if she finds cents under her pillow she's probably going to call the tooth fairy a cheap ***** and just give the Lincoln's back to me anyway

Great story and it just goes to show that there a a lot of creative ways to expand the hobby and attract that younger generation into a lifetime of fun and exploration.
