I was looking over some numbers on the NGC side of the house. Prior too the composition change in 1982 from bronze too zinc NGC had only graded 12 coins in MS68RD. After the change in composition the number of coins graded in MS68RD increased significantly. Mint state 69 examples stay relatively low until about 2000 in mint state grades and are still hard too come by. I know there are hoards of 1958 too date Lincolns out there so I know as the years go by these numbers will increase. Hard part is finding those few that will make the grade. The 1985 example at NGC has a population of 5/0 and it was the first year NGC graded a modern mint state Lincoln MS69RD. The 1986 D is a MS69RD example with a population of 3/0 at NGCGiJoe_1985MS69RD_Registry.jpg86Dobv.jpg86Drev.jpg
