Have you tried Q. David Bowers "Guide Book of Lincoln Cents"? I have one somewhere? Seems like I remember he lists strike qualities for all dates and mints. Here's an Amazon link:

"The Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents" by David Lange also notes such things for each year and mint.

Do you mean low-pressure strikes? These occur in all years.

Precisely. I am curious , are there years that are notorious for low preasure strikes where if one was aware a well struck coin could be cherry picked. Die state of course would be a factor.

I think you need to rephrase your question. You want to know if there are years in which well struck coins are rare. BadThad is one who can answer your question as that is one of interests. Send him a PM and I'm sure he'll chime in.

Generally, strikes are poor due to low pressure, non-parallel dies and late die states. These things happened to most issues but there are few standouts.

The 1920's branch mint coins are notorious for poor strikes, especially 1924S and 1925S. Some of the pre-20's branch mints also had occasional issues with striking cents. As the others have recommended, you should buy a book. Many of them breakdown Lincolns year by year and discuss strike.
