    1922 D

Does anyone know if the 1922 D cent had a proof produced. I have one the looks like a proof but am unable to find any information talking about it.
    thanks

No proof made that year. Brad has a mintage figure list HERE that lists all proof years to help you understand when they were produced. Pictures always help when trying to understand a coin.

Here are some pictures I am not sure why it has a look like a proof. Can anyone tell me what can make it look this way. Sorry about the pictures. Next to my other 1922 D's its doesn't have the same look.

          It looks polished
but not like a proof more like a wized coin
basically damaged after it left the mint

Cleaned, but very interesting. It has character. I call coins like that "weathered". I have a half full 09-58 folder with coins like that.

                Yes, cleaned.
It used to be very common that people would polish whole sets of them.
Even if they retone over decades they'll still have a wet shiny surface and never return to normal.
