Yes, I see what you mean, Arjohn. I see the peel. Great observation and deduction!! Thanks

Man, what are the chances?! You found a 1909 VDB 106 years old and it just happens to be a doubled die.
One thing's for sure. This will be the oldest lincoln variety you'll ever find.
        Congrats!

I agree also that it is DDO-001. What an exciting find!

Believe it or not but this is the third 1909 VDB that I have found searching rolls of Lincolns since I started doing this last February. This one is in the best condition. All of the devices can be clearly read. The surface of this Lincoln, however, has a grainey look to it. I'm not complaining, but, instead, hoping the next one has an S under the 1909!!
From Valentines Day 2014 to the end of March 2014, I found 1 1909p and 2 1909 vdb, so I know exactly that startling feeling when you see it. One of them I saw reverse first, and it took me awhile before I could flip it over lol.

Clutchy, That must have been very suspenseful while waiting to turn that VDB over!! From our experiences I feel that it is possible to find any Lincoln in the wild. I hope we both have more chances to find the BIG ONE!!!!
