    2009-D Lincoln Satin and Glossy???

    Hi all...
Just got my 1/2 a box allotment from my bank (secret location ofcourse...ha ha). I am wondering. Did the mint issue both a glossy and a Satin veriety for 2009?. I have a pic of the 2 coins. The one on left is the satin one. First one that confirms it gets a FREE 2009-P coin plus shipping is on me. Seriously. Thanks to all again.

Just going by memory...No! Later on there will be the 2009 set but not sure of the finish. As of right now there is only a business strike available.

Of the two coins pictured, I would have to see them closer to tell if the Satin finish one is a later die state or normal wear that has reduced the luster.

This sort of thing happens every year, believe it or not. It just depends on how and when the die is made, but it's not a 'different' issue.

Recent mint set are satin and you will see 'em in slabs noted as such over the last few years...

          I love the satins.

Any one I find I keep. I have lots of good ones, and part of me thinks, against all logic and experience, the mint MEANT to make these satin....so who am I to say they didn't even when the experts say it ain't so. Still, a complete set of business strike satin-LIKE finish is a cool goal.
