    1911-D Variety Vista RPM#6

I use a lot of online resources to help me in my searches. I noticed that there is now an RPM#6, which is a CW Rotated RPM for the 1911-D. Is the conclusion that the CW rotational RPMs that have the reverse die cracks are in fact different/new RPM then the FS-503 (WRPM#3). This has probably been discussed before, but I do have one that matches the RPM#6 on variety vista, possibly a slightly earlier die state, which I was hoping to get clarification on.

    Thanks!

At the lease, the two listings are very close in position and appearance. Are you questioning if the different listings are the same die? Looks possible however with only 6 RPMs listed I would assume Dr Wiles ruled out die #3 for a specific reason. Good question though. Maybe others have more insight.

Yes, precisely my question here. With the inclusion of this new listing on variety vista under RPM#6, has this now settled the debate whether the 1911-D CW Rotation RPMs with the reverse die crack at 3pm are in fact a completely different variety from FS-503. Thanks!

I recently examined a higher grade example of a coin which many think matches RPM-003. It has the die crack on the middle right wheat and an additional one on the lower left wheat. I prepared high quality overlays, which showed that the mintmark was in a slightly lower position relative to the date. This higher grade example also showed the RPM was a nice rotation and not just a split serif, which all lower graded coins I have examined showed. I have now listed it in the CONECA files as RPM-006.

Thank you so much for providing clarification! I presumed that with this additional listing that we could finally put to rest the debate of whether the rotational RPMs w/ the die crack are indeed a completely different RPM than RPM-003. Thanks for putting in all the hard work. I'll continue to treasure my RPM-006!

This is the coin Watersport and I were talking about. Mine has the REV marker's for RPM#6 also. At least someone finally found a high grade that could be positively attributed.
