I am doing a bit of research on the small date 1960 Lincoln cent and would like to know if you small date, Philadelphia has or does not have a small dot under the 9 digit of the date. Also look at the 1 digit in the date and see if it has two "tails".
I just looked at three different 1960-P small date examples that I have on hand (2 BU and 1 circulated). They all have very similar anomalies to what you have pictured. A definite "Dot" below the tail of the 9 and most of the gouges (??) below the 1 in the date although my examples only show the right hand parts most clearly. I can post pics in a while if that helps.
I looked through 23 small dates and they all had the 'dots' to some degree or another. I also looked through 4 1960 small date Proof coins and although less obvious, they are on the proofs also.
