    1982 production quantities

I have been sorting a pile of 500-600 1982 Lincolns from my "45 year old" piggy bank.
The seven variety stacks that I've made (half way through the pile sorting) has resulted in a very significant difference in stack heights.
Is anyone aware of production quantities for the seven varieties of the 1982 Lincolns?
Wikapedia indicates that there were 10.7 billion P's, and 6.0 billion D's, and that is the only information that I have been able to find.

If you have the Red Book, the production numbers are there for each date and mint.

Roller I think he is trying to ascertain how many P copper large date,P zinc large date,P copper small date, P zinc small date, ETC
which the red book does not note.

The answer to your question is No.
The mint did not take down how many copper vs zinc cents were made
also the date size change was not note at the mint for the number of each type made.
other people doing what you are doing have made note of the numbers they have and
this has yielded which ones are "rarer" than other... but they are all "common"
so we have ideas of the production amounts being larger for some types
      and smaller for some types

We would like to hear and see what your numbers come out to.
that is a lot of sorting, and counting and then pic taking....
here is a link for a LINCOLN CENT RESOURCE webpage to give some more info on this.
also at the bottom of the page a cool( in my opinion) easy, simple. cheat scale to figure out which is which.

At one point Chuck had a project going on to ascertain a general idea about the population numbers of not only the 1982 cents, but also the other small and large date years. I think the project has long been abandoned though. The website is still up and still has some decent information on it.

          Very interesting project. Thanks!

This project looks like the U.S. Mints' ultimate PLINKO project, that would drive statisticians nuts.

Also, It reminds me of the times when we would be thrilled to find an "S" mint in Ohio.

I'll post my counts when I'm done. (??) It takes awhile to sort using a balanced beam four feet long!
