    Coin back from ANACS

After two months of waiting, I have finally received my coins back from ANACS. I sent 10 coins. Just thought I would share:

1997 DDO 1 "ear" ANACS MS 65 RD - I purchased this one on Ebay for $14
    1968 D DDR 1 ANACS EF 40
    1972 D DDO 1 ANACS MS 64 RD
    1922 Weak D ANACS G 4 - This one has no trace of a D
    1955 D DDO 1 ANACS MS 64 RD
    1942 S DDO 1 ANACS VF 20
1956 D/D rpm 1 ANACS MS 64 RD - I will be selling this one
1941 DDO 2 ANACS EF 40 - Anyone know why this one is in a blue slab?
    1946 S/D OMM 1 - ANACS EF 40 - Crossed over from a PCI slab.
1972 DDO 2 - Did not Cross over?

Thanks for sharing - nice group of coins!

That one random blue slab is rather curious.

So what happened with the '72 die #2? What holder was it in and I am assuming they just sent it back that way.

Nice - I am sending some coins next week to try anacs - I some what confuse because, if you say for example, you choose a five day service - the vararity service takes an additional 1o/15 days - so i fugure you might as well go economy (15 days) or do they add 15 days to the 15 days making it 30 days?
      im confused.

Did you expect the 22 to be a No D?

        Wasnt blue the old labels?

A lot of good questions. First, ANACS never puts "NO D" on Die 1, 3, or 4. So I expected it to say Weak D. PCGS will put "NO D" or "Weak D", but they do not differentiate between the dies.

ANACS had a deal recently for 10 lincolns for $10 using their regular service (15 days). Economy service is around 30+ business days. I used the variety service which should be an additional 15 days. They received my coins on 3/13/09. I got them back this weekend. So it takes a while.

I know why. I will give a hint: This coin was reholder. It was in an old white ANACS slab.

It was in an NGC MS64RD holder. I put a minimum grade of 63 on the form. They returned it saying that it did not meet the minimum grade. They must have thought it was a 62.

If you choose the 5 day service for a variety and provide them with a valid variety Number it will be only a 5 day service.

If you cannot provide them with a valid listing # or don't know the variety listing # they will take the extra time to attribute the coin by research and this is where your extra time comes in.

If you use Economy service it is far longer than the time quoted. Check there web site for time limits for the service you want as they do have back logs.

If you can stay away from Economy even though it is cheaper. Hope this helps you. Watch the 5 coin min on Economy and Modern Service. I normally use the 15 day service and provide as much info on each coin as possible even for "Discovery Pieces" and I supply documentation.

I guess I am a very patient person. I would rather pay less and wait. As long as they get the grades I think they should...I'm happy. I have sent ANACS about 100 coins, and I think they do a very good job overall.

I have close to 200 graded and I have to agree that I think they do an excellent job.
I waited one time two years ago for the my coins (11) being graded on Economy Service and it was 98 working days. They had set them aside for some reason and did not bother to grade or send them back until I got on them. They did the grading free and charged me for shipping and insurance only. We all make mistakes. However I am very happy with there service. Now I only send in 5-6 coins every 1 or 2 months.
