1960D Ld, Die crack or pealer?

Here is a very cool 1960 D large date, as it has what appears to be a nice die crack all the way across the side of his head or maybe a lamination peel. Also looks to be a MM variety but I have not been able to identify it.most of the visible die scratches run north and south under the chin. very cool piece, your comments are always welcome thanks so much, Tom

Nice... Looks like a really big lamination just starting to peel... The pics of the MM are a little to blurry for me to tell about a possible RPM... If you could get some better pics that would help!!!

Hard to tell from the pics but my first thought is a crack.

I do not see a peel; believe it's a crack.

I searched around trying to find a pic of one with same crack but didn't find an exact match but seeing how many similar ones exist is convincing that it's a crack. I bet with enough searching you could find a pic of the same one.

Not sure why these cracks seem to stay in the skull, it would seem logical that they would want to spread into and cross the field to the rim since in many places the field is sort of a narrow raised die area (like where you see spikes to the rim) and the skull is a recessed area. Don't know the answer but they often are like this, staying in the skull. I guess that's why everyone calls them "skull cracks". LOL
