    Bagged cents from Wally World

Well, bank was closed last Friday for snow which we did not get. Yesterday (Monday) I get to the bank at 4:15 and it closed at 4:00!! Only open till 5:00 on Friday's.

So, I had shopping to do at Wally World. I asked customer service if I could buy some rolled "pennies" the universal politically correct word for the awesome coin we all know as the Lincoln Cent. The lady asked, "how many" and I said... "as many as I can get". Come to find out they have a machine that bags their coinage. She said it would take awhile so I just asked for $25.00. Will probably do this more often, it beats having to unroll

Have fun searching! I finally have something to search and next time I am going to get more than one bag!!!

Welcome to the "bag" world. I still have 10 $50 bags on the floor from the holiday dumping at my local Publix. I had to put a hold on any more until I clear these out. LOL

That might end up being a good source for you. Who knows what people dig up to pay for things at Walmart. Probably Grandpa's old wheat collection if they can get their hands on it.

Yes, but it was late last night during the Alabama football game and the store was just about empty. I am not sure if they would be so willing to bag up coins if they are busy so the later the better. Alabama lost so Bama fans are in hiding today LOL.... War Damn Eagle!

Good thing Wally World was open. Or you might have ended up like Chevy Chase in Vacation breaking into Walley World.

Wow, it's because they don't roll their pennies - that's the reason I got for them NOT selling them to me up here. Twerps...

Yep, the girl said they punch in an amount on this machine and the coins fall out into a small cup that will not hold $25.00 so that's why it took about 15 minutes for her to get a bag full.

Jody, definitely more Wheat's than I find in bank boxes. Total Wheat's 10, oldest one 1938P all in decent condition. Also a 1940 and 1950 George VI Canada Cent. I am beginning to wonder if the rolling companies allow employees to pull Wheat cents and exchange them? I know banks will let employees keep silver dimes, etc. that come across their teller window in exchange for a plain dime, etc. Maybe it's just me but I usually don't see many Wheat Lincolns in bank boxes.

Ha ha. My Walmart theory holds. For a very, very brief stint when I was in high-school, I took a summer job at our local Walmart. People would pay for things with rolls of change, and even rolls of halves that would be full of silver. I even saw old red seal two dollar bills and silver certificates. Basically whatever currency they could get their hands on. I'm sure a lots changed since then, but it still doesn't surprise me.
