I would bet that it is most probably a copper coated zinc (a "Zincoln") that has been plated again, and then photographed by a far-sighted photographer and graded by a color blind NCG grader.Last edited by silver1985; 03-05-2017, 10:29 AM. -
She has certification info on it. Says it is certified by NGC, but gave info from PCGS. Obviously, the coin pictured in not in a slab but is on a peppermint candy!
It does look like it has genuine luster but I wouldn't take a chance on it as is.Bob Piazza

Sorry Patrick, not picking on your question at all. But Bob's response made me LOL (thanks Bob) the peppermint candy must have been the only prop aroundComment

Patrick, I admire you guys who shop on the bay! I know there's a lot of good stuff out there, and some questionable things. I am not smart enough yet to go "ebay" shopping, so for now I am just letting that sit. One day, I want to explore that avenue... still learning as much as I can from you guys!Comment

I don't see anything about NGC on this one...maybe she changed it ? But....it looks like a normal everyday cent to meComment

Now I see it, Bob....that was strange alright....but to me, it meant nothing special anyway...but I bet beginners might think it specialComment

There is also PCGS info listed in Detailed Item info... Says it is a business strike and the color is brown... Was unplated on there before??? Why would there be NGC and PCGS info??? It also says "Not in album or in seal" so that should indicate raw???Jim
(A.K.A. Elmer Fudd)Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
