    1934 Triva

    Hi:
What happened to the 1934 cent that was different from all other 1930's cents - besides it being a 1934?
    Thanks
    Roger

Besides the fact that I could not find any San Francisco mintmarked 34's? (lesson learned)
I believe it has to do with the long sweeping tail on the 3, as it was originally designed. The sweeping tail had not been used before 1934. It reappeared in 34 and was dropped until 1943, wherein the style returned.
(or maybe I am making up this story?)

        You funny boy you.
If you had not asked the question and I did not have the book, "The Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents", by David W. Lange, I would have no idea one way or the other.
        Thanks for the lesson!
