    Thank You U.S. Mint

I just wanted to express my gratitude to the U.S. Mint for getting away from that old nasty "multiple-hubbing" process and in with the new.

It makes me so happy that the U.S. Mint has moved into the 21st century technology and decided to implement the "single-squeeze" hubbing process and eliminate making any more doubled dies.

It makes things so much easier.

Very good Billy. But this maybe short lived. With the advent of laser technology, we are looking at laser etched dies, with microscopic detail design transfer, that may very well end the variety die. Can you imagine a world without the hubbing process? Unfortunately, it is coming, but I am sure that something new will crop up. Just think, we may have a designation LHC (laser hiccup) in the future.

      I concur wholeheartedly!

The mint is one tidy construct of an organization. In summary, what are the odds on there being over twenty FY double die before they are finished being discovered?
      Kudos, U.S. Mint employees.

Maybe you won't have alot of varieties, but there will be ERRORS. Either way I am happy! It's fun to be diversified.

The single squeeze hubbing method will still be with us for a while. Even if they go to laser etching, it takes time and money. Of course, all the money they are making selling the Lincoln cents for 13 cents each (including postage) each should fill up the kitty pretty quickly.

As long as the US Mint is around and in production, I will always have something to do, something to look for, something to scratch my head and ponder over.....no matter what process they use.
