I can't find much info on it.
I would definitely not certify this coin with PCGS. They cost a fortune per coin and your coin, were it to sell on ebay, would probably sell for less than the cost of submission. For PCGS try to stick with rare or difficult to find cherrypicker varieties. If so desired, you could send it to ANACS with variety attribution, but even so it would be likely to cost more to certify than the variety is worth.

The thing I try to remember with non-FS variety coins, is we are a very small hobby. Many people collect what they find and what they can buy inexpensively. Circulated memorial varieties are generally not super hot items, even when difficult to find. Since there are thousands of listed varieties, I am sure many people are likely willing to skip an expensive coin now for a potentially cheaper coin in the future.

Dan, thank you so much for this information. I have so much to learn when it comes to the value of varieties. I really thought that if a variety had a low POP and seemed to be a difficult one to find, which I consider this DDO to be, then it must be worth something. But I understand that most people are looking for CPG/FS varieties. Honestly, I am not wanting to get into slabbing coins or buying them, even if I had a budget to afford it. I am really happy to just search Lincolns and find some cool stuff. But if I decide to sell the CLAM then I guess I should get it slabbed and find something to send along with it. Who knows... I may already have something worth slabbing and don't even realize it LOL... see... I'm just that simple

        That isn't a good assumption.
CentMD is right, not worth slabbing unless you want a 50 cent coin in a $50 slab and buyers won't pay extra for that mistake.

Well, I thought it would be best to submit it to PCGS and do their three coin deal. I'm not sure if I have anything else to send with it right now so I've been trying to find something I think the CLAM is also an error coin so I am wanting to get it into Bob's hands soon so may have to just go ahead and send it and then figure out the next step. Just trying to be smart with paying for shipping and insurance and get the PCGS deal all at the same time!

Thank you very much Ed! You know me, I get just as excited about a 50 cent find as I do the bigger ones, especially if it's one I have been diligently searching for! It's great that we have you guys to help us make wise decisions! I really do appreciate that!

Viv, the deals I see are a year membership with no free coins $69, with 4 free coins 149, with 8 free coins $249.
I don't think there is a 3 coin deal. I don't think they'll do that variety as a free voucher unless you pay the extra variety fee.
You can do it for less if you tag along with someone that's a member then you just pay your share of the cost of your coin(s).

Not sure if that is a standard price, price for a single, just his price, etc.

                  It's all about demand.
No problem at all TPring You have a very good question and looks like we are both in the same boat trying to figure out the best thing to do when deciding to slab a coin. I also would like to know what the guys think you should do about slabbing your RDV006.

You know Ed, I was probably thinking 3 coins because I already have 1 to slab. I want to do the 4 free coins and pay $149. I will pay the extra variety fee and I think that is a pretty good deal. Thank you for looking it up for me!

With those prices I do not think there are any free coins... $69 no free coins, $149 with 4 free coins and $249 with 8 - That's $80 for the first 4 then another $100 for the next 4 or $20 each then the next 4 are $25 each - So 8 coins would be $31.125 each plus any additional fees... Still a good price for slabbing depending on fees... If you like the coin and you want to protect it then I say go for it... I have a 1964D 25c I had slabbed but it is a special coin to me and worth the cost!!!

Yes I agree, but that includes being a PCGS member so you are getting a membership plus a discount on the slabbing. Not bad really (but it does say "free" coins) I think. Jim... sorry to spring it on ya but nuthing is free anymore
