    1970-S

Here's another that I pulled from circulation a couple weeks ago. Again looking for any other die markers that I should be looking for.
    Pretty sure it's the DDO-005.

This looks like machine doubling - but could also be that when a coin deteriorates it causes movement of the letters making it looked doubled...I'm no expert, let's see what others would say...I still can't figure out which ones which, half the time... Good luck...

Absolutely right, machine doubling. I found the 005 on Wexler's. Sorry, "Nothing to see here folks, move along" LOL

erex01....I know it doesn't apply to MD, but one thing to keep in mind is to identify which attributer you are referring to.....in your first post it simply says DDO-005.....out of habit I always think of coppercoins.com , but different attributers will not always have number 005 as the same variety so keep that in mind for the future

Got it, I think I was also looking at Wextler DDO-009, not 005 but no matter.

Md for sure... Copper Coins uses nomenclature such as 1DO-005 Variety Vista would be DDO-005 and Wexler would be WDDO-005 for the same DDO coin that crosses over to all three listings!!!

You're doing fine erex01, it just takes a little time to become familiar with how the different sites such as coppercoins.com, doubleddie.com and varietyvista.com list their attributions. Then after you get into that, some of the listings cross reference to other listing sites and some do not. So, it's just a continual learning experience.

Thanks guys/ gals, Got it, I've got several error/variety coins that I have in 2x2's in boxes that I've collected over the years. Many of which I didn't even put a listing on them, just listed with "DDO", DDR or "DMM" etc. Some I did put a "DDO-005", or CONECA ###.##, I guess I mistakenly didn't realize there was no real standardization, but thinking about it, this moves too fast with coins being added monthly or even quicker. Also, I've got coins that I've never seen a listing for. I've seen other posts where people have suggested sending it or a pick to whomever@wherever.com. I've got a 56-D error put away that has a "mint mark" on the image of Lincoln. I'll have to locate that and post a pic of it. I think I just labeled it as "Dropped MM" or "dropped letter" and left it at that. LOL Yeah, I sometimes use arrows too. LOL Somewhere, I have a cent with letters on the rim. I know it's a lot more fun to search for the coins than to search them "online" or even sell them. Don't care for the bother of selling any as of yet, probably not worth the trouble? I just enjoyed looking for them and thought I was among the "rare" nurds who searched cents in circulation. Most people say, ohh, gross" LOL.
Honestly, I've seen some coins with "minor" "little things going on" previously in my searching but didn't keep them, When I first began searching, I didn't even look for RPM's except for the more popular dates.(listed in red book or one of my error books) I was looking for the obvious 83 DDR or 72 DD, etc.. It wasn't until I noticed a 1988 with a double ear then later I saw it in Numismatic News. I guess that's when it became a realization that I "may" have been one of the first to locate one. I did keep that one, but the point is, I found it at least 6 months prior to it being displayed in NN.
I've had people tell me "Collectors don't care about CIRCULATED coins" whatever...I do.

That is so cool you found a 1988 double die ear! Congrats! Some time, when you have time, if you could start a thread with it. It would be great to see another example. I have only ever seen the post of the one discovered by badredbrd89 and it would be nice to see your find! Thanks!!

I occasionally buy lottery tickets. So, I'm used to having my bubbles burst. LOL

Yep same here, came to the realization that finding something is better than nothing [and Ds and Ss are far more numerous in the west] so I began with RPMs. If I were you I would think about getting a microscope if you do not have one because I would have missed nearly every one of the RPMs I have found without one. I am currently going back through a couple hundred 59Ds (that I have already searched with a 10X loupe) and finding several RPMs.

Wish I had back all the 88s where I only looked for RDV-006.
