    New USB Microscope Camera.....

Got it today. Bought it on ebay for $70 with free shipping with built in led lights and built in camera. 50x to 300x zoom. Pretty good for the money. The picture of the eye is off the 2009 lincoln dollar.

Yeah it is, but im going to try and play with it. The reflection off the lights on a high grade coin throws the colors off but if its a circ. coin then it shows orginal color.

I wouldnt use the LED light. maybe a soft 40 watt bulb. Atleast to pick up the actual color of the coin. Nice pix tho. Try messing with them in photoshop afterward??

You can play with the contrast a bit and sometimes lower the saturation to get a real nice clean pic

Yes THAT is a cool rig.

I guess maybe they could be Photoshop corrected, but for 70 bucks, that is a very sound bargain. I will probably get one too, but without 700 dollars of Adobe programs.

I've got a Digivision usb micro camera and I don't see where I can turn off the LEDs. Anyone know about this one? When I want to crop a close up pic I use my Kodak easyshare camera and the free program that comes with it. It gets the job done for the time being but on these DDO's I can't seem to get in close enough with it starting to show pixels.

The photo from one of these will be difficult to crop much since it is only a .3Mp resolution. A software program, (and i believe there is a freeware one) that can directly import USB camera info will greatly improve the appearance. My USB microscope like this one always lost the color until I fed it through Corel's Photo X2 program and I finally got some good photos, but the resolution stinks and difficult to get any whole coin photos unless your comes with a reducer lens ( which mine didn't). I take photos now with a canon 590IS through a 30 year old B&L stereo zoom.

Try to make a cover to either filter the LED or just cover them. I seen a few posts of how people did it somewhere. Just try a few different way and see what turns out better

I'll try and make a cover for it and get back with some pics of the DDO-001 one with the clash mark under Lincolns left foot and one without it. Might be an early and late die on the reverse of the DDO.

jhracing08, what's the operating platform of your computer, mine is vista basic, and I bought one of those, and had to send it back, the still camera did not work on vista, only the vidio. I was kind of disappointed, because I really thought it was going to work because it advertises that it is compatable with windows XP, and Vista..........wrong!!!!!!
