Thanks Jim for looking @ this 1929-S(No Rev).Your opinion is the coin was under weight from the beginning @ the mint & never had a rev ? Doesn't show signs of file marks,right?...……………………..Thanks again.

I think it was under weight to start with... I can not see any file marks but that is most likely due to the circ wear and PSD... As for not having a rev from the mint that would be impossible for me to tell... Wish I could say it was that way... Here are images of your coin... The first is the 29s next to the 53 I filed... The others are of the rev of the 29S... Thanks for letting me take a look at this... I appreciate it!!!Jim
(A.K.A. Elmer Fudd)Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!

It can happen that 2 planchets get struck together so each gets only one side.
But, I doubt that was the case since weight is low, it's those statistics that it would need to be an underweight planchet then get struck that way, those make the odds really slim.
More likely it was filed like Jim did his then finished with a finer grit to be smooth (to make a pendant or something) then circulated and got even smoother.Comment
