1983 P hole filler with bonus clash.

Definitely the cleanest 83P I've found searching and yet about the most abraded. A little clash peaking through still though.

    Thanks for looking, Jon.

That is a nice 83... Not often we can find a 35 year old frankenzinc without at least a bunch of pimples in the plating... Doesn't appear to be any splits in the plating either... Doesn't look to bad for circ wear either... Looks like remnants of the TY in B1 and B2... There is also the back of Abes head south of the west urn... 2 events for sure!!!

Thanks Jim!! This one just caught my eye. I've never seen one this abraded that still had so few issues otherwise and the 83P's especially are usually a mess.

Maybe I'm seeing things, but the date looks thick (class 6).
Nice images but I can't really seem to keep enough focus as I enlarge it.

Any chance this is a different stage of WDDO-007?
Yours has a similar crack coming off the right bottom corner of the Memorial building, but missing the N to S die crack (the crack make it look like the corner has broken off).

Very good eye Cliff, thanks!! I looking it over now. I don't think it's Wexlers 007 but think there may be something there. I'll post some pics after I look through all the listings. I'll start a new post if I think we have something. Thanks again man!!!

The crack off the base doesn't look the same to me??? Wexlers 007 http://doubleddie.com/828823.html has a slight arc to the north and Jons appears straight??? Unless I am seeing things again

Finding an 83 without plating bubbles is very challenging. This is the nicest one I've found:

I have only been searching for a little over a year, so I know I don't have the time in you guys do. Even in this short time, I've found this to be the case. Hands down the best 83 series coin I've found. Very nice coin sir!! It looks to be similar to mine but with less abrasions.

This coin is on my PCGS "send in wish list". I think it will easily hit 68RD.

That would be a nice grade to get... Would it be a 68 due to some minor spotting???

That is another really nice one... The obv die doesn't look to old, VDB is still strong, and just a bit of circ wear... The rev die looks to be a much later stage... May even have a struck thru on the memorial steps??? They do not look to be worn from circ but are really weak especially on the east end and the urn/stand... Did you notice the cracks/chips on C9 - C12??? I do not see any splits in the plating either!!!

Thanks Jim!! Yes sir, there are some nice cracks down the columns. I did not think about it be struck through grease or something else on the steps though, just wrote it off as a worn out die. Good call though.

The reason I think a struck thru is when compared to your coin with the clash and heavy abrasions the abraded coin is heavly worn and stil shows the step and urn details but real weak... On the 2nd coin the step and urn details are gone but everything else is still strong even for a later die stage... Also on the 2nd coin notice how strong the bushes are on the west vs the east side... The east side is real weak especially next to the urn... Hopefully I explained that correctly??? Sometimes my explanations come out long winded with very little useful info

I would have to say that you are right on Lincoln detective!! I think you may have a little Sherlock blood! And then you have me, that just doesn't pay attention!
