    Information

    Good Morning,
I am Ian and I seek information with respect to the question below.

I heard that high graded 1961 and 1964 Lincoln Pennies can fetch a few thousand dollars. Are you guys familiar with that ?
I have those in a fairly decent condition.

You are correct in that high graded coins from the 60s can bring big bucks. However, they need to be MS67 or better and those are extremely rare in that grade. Here is a link to the PCGS grading site with their pricing for coins from this period. It gives you an idea of what they can sell for if you are lucky enough to have one of the very few high grade specimens.

There are lots of nice looking full red coins from the 60s, even full rolls for a few dollars.
The ones worth thousands of dollars are only the best of the best like one in thousands and thousands of those nice full red coins. Most of the rolls will be full of average unc coins worth only a few cents each. The reason the highest grades are worth so much is they are very rare, for some dates there are no MS67 coins so if someone finds a gem that makes the top grade then it's worth thousands.

Welcome! If you saw this information on a YouTube video, pay no attention to them. They make it sound like it's easy to find them. Those videos always do that.

Yeh, lots of times they want to build up subscribers and what better way than to make it seem easy and extremely exciting so viewers will return to their channel.
