    1998 P Ed System coin.

I have put several Ed System coins in tubes since my last post of one but figured I would take a couple pics of this one. It's one of the nicer coins I've put in a tube from circulation. Some light plating issues but just struck a note with me.

    Thanks for looking, Jon.

Very nice 1998 Ed System Lincoln Jon! What's going on with the rim? The obv looks like a misaligned die but the reverse is making me think struck slightly off center??

      I think it is in a 2x2.

Okay thank you Will! That's a mighty good pic to be in a flip!

I was thinking the same thing about the rim.

Looking at the obverse, between the rim at IN and the cardboard flip, the edge of the coin appears "ruffled".
This may sound silly but is that just a visual distortion from the plastic of the flip?

Thanks Viv!! I put several away over the last few months but just really liked this one. I'll explain your questions below.

You were half right! A while back, Ray was explaining how the grey background helps the overall quality of the pic of a Lincoln. Me being the hillbilly I am, just figured I would use half of a cardboard flip and it works very well!

You are correct Cliff. I ripped a cardboard flip in half and the coin is laying on top of it for the grey background. If I don't get it perfectly centered "which happens more times than not", the glare from the light hits the plastic and creates a distortion at the edge of the coin.
I think I may have been a few nogs in at this point.

Thanks Ed!! It went straight into the tube, being careful not to drop it full force on the one already in there!!! See, I pay attention.

(I was thinking I was into some nogs without getting to enjoy them!)

Thank you Jon for explaining! Now we can all enjoy our noggs along with you LOL! Being the southerner that I am I wonder if we could find a paint example similar to the grey that Ray uses? It's easy to just grab a few of those at the paint counter of the store.
