I know what you are thinking Jim. There is some cut off but it might be in the 60s then they're mostly orange/red/brown/tan.

    check out 80s rolls:

That is what I was thinking... I thought it was later in the late 80s??? Thanks for the link... That does help!!!

      9 rolls same date update

Hello all, wanted to let everyone know what I have found so far, I am very excited and think I may have found a un documented chain of events, I am only 3 rolls into the 9 and after looking through them i started to see a pattern of the same thing, to the point if I saw one thing on a coin I knew that there was another thing on that same coin, If I have done my reading right, think I have found a time line of IDB spanning so far over 30 coins, I know you like to see obverse and revers photos but just to much for every coin so what I have in these photos is the biggest of the ones out of the thirty so far, not in any order just showing the same thing over and over starting from the east side of revers to west side. I will post them all when I get them in what I think is the order things start happening, it really goes from a little IDB to the ones you see here, hope the photos give them justice, they are not lamination issues they are all extra metal, and do believe there is also a strike through.second and third bay from the left? spike behind the I in united, so if I saw that then I knew there was stuff happening on the columns or visa versa, then I could just rub finger over a coin and feel the ridges of the stuff on columns stick under the micro and sure enough part of the series. Please let me know what I should do next and any thoughts.
      Thanks

Very cool findings and great documentation for us to see what's happening! Nice job! It looks like Ed was right on, as usual. You look to have some original bank rolls with coins from the same die. You have a lot going on there too. Nice cracks on the face of several columns, they do not look large enough to qualify for IDB's though, the nice die gouge at UNITED that looks like it goes from the I, southwest onto the rim. You also have a clash showing through in bay 3. Here are a couple of links which you may have already checked out.

        Mad Die Clashes (http://www.maddieclashes.com/)

        Cuds on Coins (http://cuds-on-coins.com/)

Added. Scroll down until you get to the 1980 D in this link, this might be what yours becomes as you die got older. (http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-idb-1959-2008/)

Very interesting to see the pattern. Hope you find a lot more in the progression. Amazing that original rolls have been hidden away like that.

1980D IDB.jpgwell fancy that I just happen to have that same coin as the one you sent me to (http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-idb-1959-2008/).
Thanks for all the input, I have been all over the place, reading up, trying to figure out what to do next, taking photos alone is going to be a we bit of a chore, and I have not even opened the other 5 rolls, I am up to 45 coins with all the same things going on from first die crack to the last photos i posted, will keep on getting photos taken and post some more to see what everyone has to say, is there any value in these either individually or as a series, besides the best value of all, finding it?
I changed my lighting but they are all the same color.

Nice find... Yours appears to be an earlier die stage than the listed coin http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-idb-1959-2008/ Yours appears to have a clash in B3 and maybe at the top of B7... Also Abe in B6 still shows strong on yours vs the Abe on the sample coin as his middle section appears to be missing!!!
