    1943S Mint Mark

    There is an anomaly with the mint mark.

    It might be Machine Doubling, or a surface issue.

    What do you think?

    Appears to be die deterioration doubling to me.

      It doesn't match any 1943-S varieties I have mapped.

          Agreed, but keep in mind that 1943 cents are plated, so that could also be part of what we're seeing.

            That's cool looking... The upper serif looks like MD... Not sure if the ridge to the east is Die Deterioration Doubling (DDD) or a pressure ridge??? It doesn't have that flow appearance that DDD has???
