hope you can tell by this pics .im having a hard time getting the true color of the coin. it is brown with hints of red and it's very will struck just has a little black something down by the date i have no ideal what it is and i don't want to wipe it
so what do do you think a possible grade would be

im going to send it in if you think it could go ms/unc to dgs

Pretty nice coin there CO, but would like to see the reverse as well and the pics a little larger. The contrasted toning is deceptive looking in the pic. But, based on what I see, I think it will get a high AU or perhaps a low MS grade. Overall range AU58/MS62
    Good luck with it.

I would go with AU-50/55 from the obverse photos.

With a professional grading service - 'no grade' because of the corrosion.

As a collector coin it would net grade to EF because of the same damage.

Only if you forget the damage would it grade AU.

        It's definitely not MS.

And all this is guessing that the reverse is not damaged and shows equal wear to the obverse.

Yep...I knew I should have gone with my first impression/thoughts about it, but retyped the reply instead. I'm definately not a practical grader.

AU details for sure. I'm not sure about cleaning or corrosion.

That is a bold venture. I know because I am trying to get all mine in XF or better. For the varieties I just want nice examples. The 1917 DDO and the 1922 Plain are not easy to find in XF (of course you wrote VF 45 so maybe you meant VF?).

Are you trying to get them all certified too?

Good luck. Like I said...bold venture. Have a look at the 22 plain prices in XF. Ouch.
