Thanks for all the help with the one I posted a few weeks ago, once I got that coin in hand I was able to determine it was a counterfeit and was able to get a refund. However I received this one in the mail today and I can’t get a good read on it. The weight is correct at 3.11 grams. Sorry I couldn’t get the best pictures of it. I can’t see the die marker above the D on the reverse due to buildup on the coin. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The surface and the letters. This was made to look old, 72 isnt that long ago. You're better off buying one of these already graded. If there is any suspicion, don't buy it.
Anything that is valuable, there are 1000s of fakes. Seems too good to be true, it probably is. The fact that it sold for $40 from a seller that never sells coins, should have been a BIG red flag. The 14D he sold looked fake tooLast edited by kloccwork419; 04-22-2020, 09:37 AM.Comment

klockkwork(Jason) hit the nail on the head by recommending purchasing one already graded.
I'm familiar with this variety (who isn't that collect Lincolns) but don't own one and haven't seen one in hand. My first thought was that it looked fake for the reasons Jason and Ed pointed out. To me the color/patina looked staged and an odd mix of details and mushiness at the same time.Comment

I agree with the others. This is not genuine. I have one just like it.All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. Taking them may result in serious side effects. Results may vary. Offer not valid in New Jersey.Comment
