    Die differences for 1943?

I've wondered this for a while now. I figure some of you guys will know the answer. Were the dies used for 1943 Cents different than other dates as far as metal used or differences in hardness to accommodate for the metal makeup of the Cents at the time? If so, what were the differences?

    I don't have a clue.
I'm thinking Ed would have insight on this but he has not been online for about a month,.
Hopefully his recovery is progressing and he will be back with us sooner rather than later.

I don't recall reading anything about there being a difference, but the steel planchets sure were hard on the dies.

BJ Neff, did a very detailed study of the Lincoln Cent 1909-2006 and sold a CD on the subject.

            His notes for 1943.

1943 – There are no changes to the master die.
            a. The 4 digit’s arm has an upper serif added. The
foot is longer than the arm. The 3 digit is similar
in appearance to the one used in 1934.
