1944 D/S PCGS MS67 LWC- Break out the piggy bank and it's yours!

Happened to spot this and thought one of you peeps might want it bad enough. Opening bid is only $34,000.00 (+$4,250.00 buyers fee)
(Note they went cheap on the attribution and didn't even pay the extra variety fee for the actual variety number.
    (V V- OMM-001/FS# 511 by the way)
    GC 1944D/S PCGS MS67 CAC .

When I see that kind of crazy price I call it "Hansen" bait. He is the only one who would take the bait.

Really good phrase Bob and so accurate.

(I noticed there was a 1936P MS66 red DDO-001 in the same auction but no reserve, if I recall correctly)

Grey Sheet is $2,400 in MS66RD. That is a stretch for just one grade. Even though a CAC. PASS

Grey Sheet is the wholesale price isn't it, even though lots of collectors use it as a baseline?

These are 2 that sold. One was last month but had 67+
I would be just fine with an MS64 in the $4-600 range..lol

Legend is a whole other auction house. They have done more to harm the hobby than help. They operate under PT Barnum motto that there is a sucker born every minute. They deal in some of the most expensive coins in the world. Thus they need suckers to pay top dollar.

I don't know that "House" but isn't any auction a representation of the going rate when something actually sells?

Or do they pamper and spoil customers somehow to get them to spend more?

17% isnt pampering. Im sure it wasnt only 1 sucker bidding on them coins. The starting bid on Great Collections is set by the seller. The only higher grade has the + and thats the one sold at Legend. If you ask me, that doesnt look like an MS67+ coin. I seen MS65 coins look better than that
If I had that kind of money to blow on a hobby, it wouldnt be on a coin.

Would the new hobby have to do with grass skirts or volcanos?

Doesn't look like it sold. "0 Bids"

(but a 1936p DDO-001 PCGS MS66 Red did for only $10,734.75 , includes the fees. Very nice looking coin)
