    Lighthouse self adhesive flip

    Does anyone else use these? I like the adhesive part and that it has a tab at the top of the flip. What I dont like is the clear, isnt that clear. I didnt notice at first til I went to get a shot of a coin that was in the flip. Its really wavy looking under a loupe and with the camera you can pick up bubbles. Im hoping its a bad batch and not like this on all of them. If Im just looking at the coin in hand you cant really see it, under a loupe its bad. Might have to try out another brand

          I haven't used cardboard flips for decades. I prefer flips and inserts because you are able to remove the coin to view or photograph it. I don't recall using self adhesive 2x2s at any time. Sorry...

              The Lighthouse self adhesive flip made by Leuchtturm in Germany is a quality archival product. I use them for all of my cents that are not in TPG holders. Would not use the cheaper copies which may be made of questionable materials. However, they are not good for photography. But they are inexpensive so just break the coin out for a photo and then put it back in a new holder as the holders are inexpensive and will not damage the coin by the transfer.

                  When you say "not that expensive", how much would that be?

                      You can get 100 lighthouse ones for like $15. I wouldn’t mind trying the black ones but if the clear part is like the rest, I’ll pass. I talked to wizard and they said the best quality ones are super safe brand
