    Help Needed

I have a major dilemma with my website The Lincoln Cent Resource.

I created this website 15 years ago using Yahoo as my host and they offered something called Yahoo SiteBuilder to create it.
About 5 years ago I got too busy to mess with it and it has been fairly idle.
I kept paying for it every month, but have not updated it hardly at all.

I made some changes this past summer and that went fine, but now I cannot get it to work.
I contacted Yahoo and they said they no longer support websites made with Yahoo SiteBuilder.
So basically I am paying for a web hosting service that does not support my website.
Furthermore, I don't know anything about websites outside of SiteBuilder.

Part of me wants to just say hell with it and shut down the page, but I did work hard on it and people do use it.

If anyone has any advice that can help me make the website operational I would appreciate it.

I don't have a lot of free time to dedicate to this and really don't want to spend too much either.

I really do not know how easy or difficult it is to change to a different web building software.

    Thanks,
    Brad

I know how to code websites, but I do it from scratch... raw html, css etc.

You could convert it to raw html/css and host it anywhere very cheaply.

If you want to rebuild your website with a website builder, the best one that is used extensively and has very good support is WordPress. It's fairly easy to use and supported by most web hosts.

Brad, thanks for your efforts to keep the site up and running. Hope you can find a way to continue it.
WordPress was recommended as well by my daughter-in-law that works in software development and also builds sites.

From what I've been reading, it would be a nontrivial project for him to do it himself, especially if he doesn't have much web knowledge. I found a service that offers to do this migration process, perhaps he can reach out to them to see how much they charge: https://wordpressconversionservice.com/..."

          Hope this helps.

I sent them a request for an estimate. Let's see what they say. Thanks

Maybe need to do a GoFundMe crowdsourcing campaign to help with the cost?
I've never done it but hear about it for other worthy causes.

Personally, I've never cared for the "build a site" hosting services. I've coded with raw HTML and Front Page and used a hosted server with FTP in the past so I had complete control. However, it's very time consuming! I ended up shutting down all my pages a few years ago. After running them for about 20 years, it was just too much, so I understand your quandary. GOOD LUCK!
