Looks like MDD

It is more than likely machine doubling. A doubled die of that quality would have shown up long ago on an 1911 die.

On top of the coin being MDD on the reverse, the color and surface texture do not look right (that may be from the picture but it worries me)...

Thats a very nice looking coin but its MD. Im sure whoever bought it didnt fall for the Doubled Die. Its a good price for that date and grade. Its worth 3 or 4 times that much.
