I was curious after this thread started and found my trail die attributions HERE. Nothing major.

I thought about it last night and don't believe truth was the problem......it's who discovered the truth. I worked in an architectural office and ran into that a lot...I would point out a flaw and get told I wasn't an architect....then 3 months later they would make the same discovery and pat each other on the backWell, that's exactly right. And I even said something to that effect in my article. There's really no difference between a doubled die and a trail die with respect to how they were made. Both were man-made errors (negligence) when creating the die. I feel they should still be considered as die varieties.

Maybe someday the LCF will encourage Jason to update the S mintmark page to reflect my other discovery about MMS4.

Thought this thread could use some wavy steps. So here are some random ones I had available to quickly photograph.

Sorry, that was one of the ones I actually got paid for, so there's no free link that I know of. It was in Coin World in July of 2017, I think. One of the weekly issues. I can find out when I get home.
Edit. July 17, 2017 coin world. Here is the trailer, lol. https://www.coinworld.com/news/preci...inside-cw.htmlLast edited by willbrooks; 02-10-2022, 01:13 PM.All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates.
