I do not recommend using Etsy

Because ebay is crawling with cherrypickers (anymore), I decided to give etsy a try since they've been around a few years.

It didn't take long and I found someone selling a nice 1956-P ddr-2 for a few bucks so I jumped on it [seller had good feedback]. Long story short, the seller quit selling on etsy within a few days of me paying/ordering and while etsy is giving me a delivery date, the e-receipt is showing 'not shipped' [confusing]. But the instructions say there is nothing to do until the end of the delivery period arrives and no item delivered.

That day arrives and I log into etsy only to find that trying to open up a case is improbable [at least ebay makes it easy]. I finally gave up trying through etsy and went through paypal and they sent a message to etsy so I will see where that gets me.

"One and done" with etsy -- Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Anyone else have issues with etsy?

$.35/ea for forever stamps is great, though I must admit I don't mail much.

Opened up a case with Paypal and got results within an hour.

I have deleted my Etsy login info so that I am not tempted to log on anymore. They [Etsy] NEVER sent me any type of communication regarding getting a refund even though their own receipt showed that the item was never shipped.

Truth be known, I'd rather have the coin, but at least I didn't lose anything. It was only a few dollars, but it was the principle.

If you're going to rip someone off, why for a few dollars?

In foreign countries, a few dollars is a lot of money.

I don't know the seller's intent. My guess is that he quit Etsy at the same time that I ordered. May not have even known that I did order and pay.

My biggest complaint is the lack of involvement from Etsy: It is essentially non-existent.
