    1964 SMS value

You can purchase the 1964 SMS (not proof) set on ebay all day long for $60. (including the 90% silver half)
The 1964 SMS cent is worth over $1,000 for a MS60RD when I look it up on PCGS. I cross-referenced the newest greysheet and a MS65RD is listed for $10k.
Is this a different 1964 SMS?
    What am I missing?

Are they just putting mint Philadelphia coins in the SMS holder and they aren't the actual SMS coins?

"1964 US Mint Coins in Genuine US Special Mint Set SMS Holder + Silver Kennedy!"

Thanks for bringing this listing up. The title of the listing is intentionally misleading. (Imagine that.)

The 1964 coins are genuine US coins. The coins are in the plastic holders the US mint used for 1965, 1966, and 1967.
(The plastic holders can be separated fairly easily.)

The seller is letting the human mind meld the information into an erroneous understanding about the coins. Spending $59.00 to get a $10,000.00 item is what set your alarms going!
Kudos to you for doing a double take and realizing something didn't add up. (374 other people didn't catch the deceptive listing and bought one.)

Looking at the sellers feedback is telling. All Negative(2) or Neutral(2) feedback is because of these sets and the seller gets insulting to the buyers when they call him out on his Descriptions.

        Brewgu "Neutral" Feedback-

        ****First Neutral Feedback****
        Feedback from the buyer-
"WORDING MATTERS. Wording misleading, coins were in US Special Mint Set ( SMS ) Holder. Coins were not 1964 SMS Special Mint Set Coins. They are 1964 U.S PROOF Coins. Could not tell coins were PROOF in Picture. Wording should have been, 1964 U.S. POOF Coins in Special Mint Set Holder"

"Well guy, that wasn't really helpful. I've been on Ebay over 20 years with 100% positive feedback. I offer a 100% no questions asked money back guarantee, If you want a refund you have to return the item. It was sent to you, you gotta return for a refund. You can't cancel the order once the item has been shipped. Uggggg."

This statement about "100% positive feedback" is incorrect (intentionally misleading?) as it is currently at 99.9%.
