I want to start by saying that this is not a plea for help - it's just a fact of life that I need to share to clear some things up a little.
The domain name on my site expired today because I didn't have the $23 to renew it. I ended up taking some stuff in and cashing it in to put the money in the bank to pay for the domain name, but the damage had already been done. Some servers around the world got the notification that the domain expired, and now some of you cannot reach the site.
This is temporary. The domain has been paid for and will refresh in your servers eventually, and you will once again be able to use the site.
Basically when it comes down to paying for the phone and buying gas to take my son to school, that has to come first.
So that's it. For those who have received a domain expired notice, just come back again later, hit 'ctrl' and 'F5' simultaneously (which does a hard refresh of web content), and eventually your computer will again cache the site.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

I just logged on and the site is up but for future purposes... Is there a link to donate to assist in keeping the ever so important site running? Believe me I understand the hardships we all have gone or going through currently.
"LONG LIVE COPPERCOINS" sorry I had to add that. I'm a heavy user of your site just like everybody else here and would love to contribute in your endeavor for our hobby.

      Please let me know,

I was setting here thinking about an option that we can do to help these to sites out a little. I was wondering if some of the collectors would be interested in helping these wonderfull sites going for a long time. If everyone here would donate one or two coins from there collection to Chris and Brad so that they can sell them on ebay or some other place to keep these sites running. As a collector, both of these sites are very useful to me and i bet everyone here too. So let me know what you think on this. To me this would be very helpful to both of these sites.

          Thank you

I don't know what I use. It's in FAVORITES and I just click on it and the New Additions page automatically comes up. I just tried it, went to forum, everything works fine.

I agree with you George. It is a fine idea to donate coins to the site. I refer to
coppercoins from 5 to 25 times per week, looking up stuff. But sometimes, money is handier for the sites to use. The sites can tell us what they would like. I will give.

Having raised 8 children on a shoe string budget for the past 34 years, I understand all too well. Personally, I have a much greater respect and admiration for you as a husband and father in these circumstances than as a connoisseur of Lincoln pennies. As soon as I get a few dollars I am committed to help with a paypal donation to the site. You should be focused on your family and not have to worry about the upkeep expense of the site that has and continues to help so many collectors everyday. This is just my own personal opinion.

I agree I would send coins for donation if they wish. Cash is not an option right now I was laid off a few weeks back. I do have some DDO's and DDR'S from 2009 I would donate. If so send me an address or post it and I will send some nice ones.

                            Hi all...

George - the name is Chuck - not Chris.

                            My address:

                            coppercoins.com
                            PO Box 627
                            Brookline, MO 65619

And I definitely appreciate that one...I don't have one of those yet.

The LCR resource is maintained by two individuals. I pay for and maintain the main site (www.lincolncentresource.com) and Pat Sherman pays for and maintains the forum. The forum costs more than the main site. If you click on the donate link at the top of the page, you will be donating to Pat. If you click on the donate link on the main site homepage you will be donating to me. If you are planning on donating money, I would rather you donate to Pat since he is shouldering most of the cost.

Fortunately, I am very lucky to be a teacher and this economy has not effected me much. My wife is also a teacher. We have no children, so our finances are doing well. I try to keep my coin budget separate from my normal budget. My "Want List" would exceed most budgets, so I have to try to keep my buying under control. At this moment my coin budget is Negative $679. So I have not been doing a good job. But, I could not pass up that 1995 D ddo 3 or the matte proof. I could make most of the $ back if I sell one of those. Anyhow, my point is that I am not really hurting for money in terms of my lifestyle. In terms of coin buying, no matter how much I have I will never have enough because I will always want more.

If you want to help out the LCR, donate money to Pat or buy some of the coins I have for sale on the main site. If you would like to send me a coin as a thank you, I would be be excited to get it. I have received a lot of great coins from members through trades, purchases and coins that members have just given to me. Receiving donations and coins motivates me to keep adding new content to the main site. It is hard during the school year to find time to work on the site, but knowing that others are using the site makes it worth while.

I build this site because I love coins and the hobby of coin collecting. As long as people use the site and find it worthwhile, then it is worth the time and cost. I'm sure Chuck feels the same way about coppercoins.
