Not much to show on the next searched bank box

Hardly any wheats. One Canadian. One pretty good die crack going from the rim by the WE down to Lincoln's nose. A 1998 WAM and another 2019 DDO-001, 1DO-010, WDDO-011. Slow unexciting box. Fingers crossed for the next one.

Just curious, about what percentage of the coins were shield cents?

On this box, maybe 80%. I have searched so many bank boxes over the years, you can almost tell what the odds are of what you might find from the beginning. For instance, it's obvious when a detectorist turns in a bulk of coin finds or when the car wash turns in their vacuum finds. When there are a lot of 1975, 76, 77, 78, 79, 81 an not many other dates, then its a searched box. If there are more than just a couple of 60's in AU or better grade, then chances are higher of finding a variety as these were probably out of circulation for a long time. Somebody turning in a long held stash. You can just get a feel for a box when you open it.

Indeed, I've searched my share of bank boxes too but I haven't in about 5 years now. Looking at the change I received I keep seeing more and more shield cents - it's a pretty high ratio of them. I don't collect them at all so I fear searching these days will just &$^# me off.
